The Wareham Library Foundation Inc. is a non-profit, charitable corporation formed in 2007 to raise and invest funds to support the Wareham Free Library and other public libraries that benefit town residents. The Foundation will promote a range of library activities including educational and reading skills, help provide books and other educational and cultural materials, and help organize educational events including speakers, cultural performances and other events to enrich life in the town of Wareham.
The foundation is not meant to supplant public funding from the town of Wareham. Public funding of our libraries is an essential component of education in our community. Rather, the foundation will help complement this public funding, allowing Wareham libraries to offer residents a rich and diverse collection of learning opportunities.
The Foundation is lead by a group of directors who are responsible for managing funds to support the library, and who award grants to organizations in town in support of library-related materials, programs and activities.
